The slope finals at X Games Aspen set a yearly benchmark, annotating the current level of trick wizardry on both the men's and women's sides and the 2016 competitions towed the line. On Friday, the women shone under perfect meteorological conditions and Spencer O'Brien stood atop the Aspen podium for the first time in her already impressive slope career. On Saturday, the prodigious gentlemen took to the course, but the snow had fared terribly over the 24 hours between the two events. Battling quickly changing and challenging conditions, the men threw down and ultimately it was the ever-consistent Mark McMorris who claimed back-to-back X Games slopestyle golds.
