The TransWorld TransAms, by High Cascade:
“Helping to get amateur snowboarders off the ground this winter.”
Mt. Hood Oregon—Rail jams got you in a stale jam? Do you sometimes
wish you could go off a jump, grab your board … maybe even spin
around or do a flip? Well if so, come join High Cascade Snowboard Camp
and TransWorld Snowboard Magazine at the 2006 TransWorld TransAm contests
for a breath of fresh air this winter.
Unique mini slope-style courses will set the scene for an event getting
riders back it the air and using their imagination. This five-stop tour
hosted by the most progressive park resorts in the country will be a gathering
for some of the happiest amateur riders on Earth to push each other in
a fun, jam style jump-jib-jabbing environment. The series will culminate
in a nighttime finals under the lights at the 2006 USASA Nationals at
Northstar, CA. In addition, winners at each stop earn a qualifying spot
at the Amateur World Snowboard Championships this summer at Mt. Hood.
Side events to include The Crail Jam (not c-rail, were talking crail grabs),
The Brail Jam (blind-folded fun), the Bail Jam (best falling techniques)
and The Trail Jam (the whole group mobs a run at the end of the day).
As you read this, in Hood River, Oregon, Dakine is making ridiculous custom
TransAm backpacks for the event and on Vashon Island, WA Ride is making
limited edition TransAm boards for the winners. In addition, the TransAm’s
have teamed up with 3 of the country’s best retailers to enhance
each event: Eastern Boarder (East Coast stops), Active (West Coast stops)
and Satellite (Colarado stop) will be there kicking in gift cards to the
winners and joining in the fun.
To top it all off, the guys from Oakley
are coming with outerwear and custom Oakley Blades for the top three spots.
Painted gold, silver and bronze (1st, 2nd, 3rd) with laser etched TransAm
lenses, these retro-release sunglasses will keep the winners thermo-nuclearly
protected for life. Bonus: rumor has it Cobra Dogs has a new trailer and
will be on hand at some of the events to fuel riders with their delicious
hot dogs grilled specifically for the extreme sports lifestyle....
