When Timberline opens for the 2015/16 winter season, skiers will have two new food outlets to choose from, in addition to the five existing Mt Hood restaurants. The Wy’East Café is replacing the Black Iron Grill in the Wy’East Day Lodge. In collaboration with Skylab Architecture and Lorentz Bruun Construction, this million dollar remodel is designed to appeal to active skiers and snowboarders with a variety of convenient, healthy, and hearty options. Food stations include burritos and bowls, pizza and pasta, burgers, and a fry bar in addition to a healthy grab-n-go section with sandwiches and salads. The Market Café has been renamed Y’Bar. Ski in – ski out food service will be located on-hill at the Phlox Point Boy Scout Cabin. This historic cabin has been remodeled into a warming hut offering food cart style tacos and beverages.

With a variety of different packages available for purchase, skiers and snowboarders can sign up to have a drone safely follow and film them on the mountain. Cape Productions editors take the best footage from the runs combined with music, visual effects, close-up and landscape footage to produce a professional-grade video. More information to come as details are finalized. (Due to safety concerns for all, Timberline prohibits the use of drones by the general public.)
A PistenBully 400 ParkPro in action last spring at Timberline
The 2016 Freeskier Resort Guide has recognized Timberline as one of the Top Ten terrain park programs in the West. To keep it that way, Timberline has purchased two state-of-the-art PistenBully 400 ParkPro Snowcats. These are the first terrain park machines that Timberline has ever owned. They will be dedicated to the terrain parks all year long.
Timberline has also invested in PistenBully SNOWsat, an innovative slope and fleet management system with snow depth measurement, which is based on satellite-guided positioning. SNOWsat will reduce fuel consumption and downtime, while improving snow quality and increasing safety with lower environmental impact.

This enables Timberline to utilize every snowflake that hits the ground with extreme accuracy. Timberline Truth: due to its elevation, Timberline already has the longest ski and snowboarding season in North America. Add these investments and Timberline is poised to deliver the best on-mountain skiing and snowboarding experience.
We are Proud to Be Your Host and will see you on the slopes soon!
