USASA National Championships at Copper Mountain, April 1 - 12

The largest ski and snowboard competition in the world returns for its 10th year

COPPER MOUNTAIN, Colo. — March 21, 2017 — From April 1 – 12, Copper Mountain Resort is proud to host the United States of America Snowboard and Freeski Association (USASA) National Championships. Almost 2,000 ski and snowboard athletes are set to descend onto the resort for 12 days to compete in disciplines such as GS, SL, slopestyle, boarder/ski cross, halfpipe and rail jam.

USASA is a non-profit grassroots organization with 32 regional divisions nationwide. Each of these divisions support athletes of all ages and abilities in local and regional competitions. These events are held in order to not only garner points to qualify for the National Championships but build life skills meant to last. USASA strives to provide a platform for athletes to progress competitively in an environment that’s encouraging and fun.

“Copper is the ideal location to host our biggest event of the year! Our families love the layout of the mountain and the amenities provided by the resort,” said Mike Mallon, Executive Director of USASA. “We are looking forward to another great year.”

As the host of the USASA National Championships for the 10th consecutive year, Copper Mountain Resort works hard to deliver the best environment for athletes to succeed. Copper is committed to the development of both amateur and professional athletes by providing training and competition opportunities year-round.

“As a long-time partner of USASA, we are proud to be home,” said Jesse True, Senior Vice President of Copper Mountain Resort. “ We really love watching these athletes progress; they are the next Olympians and World Champions.”
