The first Saturday of every August we honor the tradition of the Rendezvous Mountain Hillclimb here at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. What seems like a daunting 6.1 miles up Rendezvous Mountain with 4,139 vertical feet is conquered by runners of all ability levels. The best part about this race: it’s all for the love of the sport. The competition is friendly and everyone is cheering each other on from the start.
Runners take off from the start with Big Red overseeing the race.
This morning was no different as roughly 200 runners prepared for the ascent. At 8:30AM, the gun fired and the runners were off. The course led them up and over the skier bridge and onto the Wildflower Trail. When they reached the Bridger Gondola, the moved to the Cirque Trail which led them all the way to the summit of Rendezvous Mountain, where a ‘bacon-aid’ station and refreshments awaited finished runners. Congratulations to those who finished the race and we hope you’ll join us again next year on the first Saturday of August.
