JVC hits the slopes this winter in a partnership with K2 Sports that has K2 pro skiers and snowboarders shredding powder with a JVC Adixxion action camera along to capture their exploits.
K2 has a roster of professional skiers and snowboarders using its gear, and video of these pros in action is a major component of the company’s online and social media activity. The JVC/K2 partnership has JVC equipping K2 athletes with the company’s GC-X2 Adixxion action camera to create footage that will be used to produce an ongoing series of co-branded videos that both brands will use on their websites and social media outlets.
“We see this as a partnership between two very similar and complementary brands,” said Karl Bearnarth, senior vice president, marketing for JVC Americas Corp.’s Consumer A/V Group. “K2 has the best winter sports athletes using the best equipment, while JVC offers the best camera for capturing the action. For JVC, this is a fantastic opportunity for us to show K2 fans just how good our Adixxion camera is while sharing with them some compelling footage.”
“K2 is excited about this new partnership with JVC and the adrenaline-pumping content that will be generated by some of the best skiers and snowboarders in the world,” said Jeff Mechura, Vice President of Global Marketing at K2 Sports. “The Adixxion platform is ideal at capturing great athlete POV footage that will put the viewer in the driver’s seat.”
The JVC GC-XA2 Adixxion is ideal for all action sports, and is ready to go right out of the box. It is waterproof to a depth of 5m (16.4 ft.), shockproof to withstand a drop from 2m (6.5ft), dustproof, and freeze-resistant, all without the need for an external housing. It has a built-in LCD monitor to make it easy to review what’s been shot, and Wi-Fi for streaming to a smartphone, easy upload to YouTube and transferring stills and video to a computer.
