Janne Korpi wins men's qualifier at Cardrona / Kelly Clark best women / Women's finals fixed Last year's winner of the World Cup opener in Cardrona Janne Korpi proved in today's qualifiers for the season's first halfpipe competition of the 2013 FIS Snowboard World Cup that he likes the superpipe at Cardrona Alpine Ski Resort. The 26-years-old Finn earned the highest score of the day (88.6) for his run consisting of frontside alley oop 540, backside 540 mute, front to tail, cab 720 and frontside 900 lean.
On the women's side 2002 Olympic Champion Kelly Clark (USA) earned today's maximum with 84 points while reigning World Champion Holly Crawford (AUS) secured her spot in the finals scheduled for Sunday 12 PM by winning the semi finals.
The two riders will battle for victory with 2006 Olympic Gold medalist Hannah Teter (USA), Sophie Rodriguez (FRA), Haruna Matsumoto (JPN) and Queralt Castellet (ESP).
On the men's side, only seven other riders have already taken their seats in the twelve men final besides Korpi: Ayumu Nedefuji (JPN), Taku Hiraoka (JPN), Shuhei Sato (JPN), Peetu Piiroinen (FIN), Markus Malin (FIN), Scott Lago (USA) and Yiwei Zhang (CHN).
The other four spots will go to the best four semi finalists who will compete Sunday at 10 AM.
