Summer’s prestigious Perisher event, The Mile High presented by Carlton Dry went down this past week, bringing riders from all over the globe to this revered park destination in New South Wales, Australia. Sven Thorgren topped the podium, followed by fellow elite park senders, Marcus Kleveland and Seppe Smits. Competition was clearly heavy at this August event; in addition established contest pros, up and coming ams Red Gerard, Brock Crouch, Nik Baden, and Luke Winkelmann made the trek Down Under. The Mile High presented by Carlton Dry at Perisher came to an end yesterday in spectacular fashion. The weather cleared with perfect timing and the semis and finals went ahead as planned. The course built by the Perisher Parks team was incredibly creative, with a halfpipe hit at the top and two separate rail and jump lines. In the women’s division, 16-year-old Hailey Langland finished on top, with Katie Ormerod in second place, and Miyabi Onitsuka in third. In the men’s division, Sven Thorgren was triumphant, with Marcus Kleveland in second place, and Seppe Smits in third.
