Celebrating 50 years ain’t easy. It has to be big, memorable and most importantly, FUN! I Boreal nailed all objectives by hosting the first annual Boreal Banked Slalom and Brewfest. A costumed snowboard race to benefit the HighFives Foundation, a Tahoe-based 501.c.3 non-profit organization dedicated to raising money and awareness for athletes who have suffered a life-altering injury while pursuing their dream in the winter action sports community.
Legendary shred Lane Knaack and his park crew hand built the course with love, sweat and tears that stretched from the top of the mountain down through the halfpipe and into the park. Tahoe’s finest showed up to pay homage to home of the original snowboard park, Jibasic park including Chris Roach and Roan Rogers.
From sun-up to sundown, the party raged on with three live bands on the deck overlooking the course. Through the music, beers and shredding, we raised thousands of dollars for charity and have decided it will be an annual event. Big thanks to all our sponsors for helping make this happen. Subaru, Coke, GoPro, Red Bull, Neff, Pistenbully, Spy, Phunkshun wear, Academy, 686, Flux, Outdoor Tech, Remind Insoles and Nixon.
