Backed by the finest bikes and protection, riders set sights
on the California Enduro Series
Trysil, Norway (July 13, 2017) – The Norwegian-based Sweet Protection, makers of premium mountain bike helmets and apparel, is joining with Marin Bikes to sponsor the Marin Enduro team in the California Enduro Series (CES), as well as at other enduro mountain bike events across the country. Athletes Amy Morrison, Evan Geankoplis, Cory Sullivan and Janea Perry will ride Marin and wear Sweet Protection throughout the 2017 CES in their quest for the podium.
Sweet Protection is outfiting the riders with the latest helmets, pads and apparel to keep them cool, calm and protected over the hundreds of miles of singletrack they will encounter throughout the events. New helmets like the Bushwhacker II with it’s advanced, digitally-designed ventilation system will help keep athletes cool and performing at their best in the hot California summer while keeping them protected throughout the fast, technical portions of the courses.
“We are psyched to be partnering with this amazing team,” said Johnnie Kern, Marketing & Sales Manager at Sweet Protection North America. “This team is full of tough and experienced riders who embody what the Sweet brand is all about and more importantly, they are humble, down-to-earth people. We couldn’t be more pumped to have these four showcasing and promoting our gear in support of our Bike product launch here in North America. You could not ask for, nor find, a better group to represent our products and what we do.”
The events, which stared in April, will bring the best riders from around the world to various courses across California. As of July 1st, the CES entered the high stakes Triple Crown Series where the team is currently leading in points with Cory and Janea in 1st place for the Pro Men’s and Pro Women’s classes, respectively. Most recently, Amy and Janea took 1st and 2nd at the China Peak Enduro, where Amy won three of the five stages.
“Sweet Protection works with some of the best athletes in the world – from skiing to kayaking and cycling – to develop their gear and it really shows,” says Sweet Athlete Evan Geankoplis. “We are super lucky to have the support and show off this amazing gear to the states.”
