Struktur Event (Struktur), the creative conference for active, outdoor and urban design, has launched a new design podcast series. The “Struktur” podcast features interviews with the designers and minds behind the most creative products and businesses in the outdoor industry.
“This series evolved naturally out of the Struktur conference,” said co-founder Michelle Rose. “We have so many great conversations with like-minded designers during the planning of the conference, we wanted a way to keep them going, and share them with the rest of our community.”
“Everyone we’ve worked with has been generous about sharing with their knowledge and experience,” said Struktur co-founder Sam Ward. “We see the podcast as a means to keep that sharing going, and where designers of all levels can find the insight and inspiration that will keep them growing in their career.
The series launched with four episodes, featuring interviews with Anton Willis, CDO of Oru Kayak, Sue Bal, from the Portland Development Commission’s Athletic and Outdoor group, Jessica Hemmer, an expert in advanced sew-free and bonding techniques, and Liana Delucca-Johnson, bag and pack designer for brands like Camelbak and The North face and one of the few female industrial design leaders in the outdoor industry.
The podcast is available on iTunes, and on the Struktur website.
Founded by design industry veterans Michelle Rose and Sam Ward, Struktur is the first creative conference for the active outdoor design industry. Rose and Ward launched the event to support and nurture the talented community of designers working at the intersection of creativity, business and entrepreneurship. Now in its third year, Struktur takes the profession of outdoor design beyond the usual focus of trend, features and function into the realm of education, leadership and storytelling. The event is a forum to share ideas, overcome challenges and be inspired while connecting with a diverse group of talent as they share experiences with new processes, techniques and materials.
