Vibram®, the worldwide leader in high-performance soles and the creator of the Vibram FiveFingers® articulated toe shoe, today introduced its Spring 2018 collection, highlighted by its new adopters of Vibram Megagrip, its most advanced technology engineered to grip and perform on all terrain in wet and dry conditions. The collection also includes three new Vibram FiveFingers styles and a redesigned Vibram Furoshiki line.

For spring 2018 in Vibram’s soling category, Megagrip continues to see widespread adoption with products from brands including Altra, Bedrock, Giro, Hoka One One, Merrell, New Balance, Orvis, Scarpa, The North Face and Vasque. Specifically, the compound will see five new adopters for 2018.

“We’ve noticed an impressive 30% growth rate with Megagrip year over year,” states Lawrence Anastasi, Vibram USA’s director of sales for soles and components. “While this product has only been on the market for a few seasons, it has a legitimate space in the outdoor markets particularly in the hiking, trail running, fly-fishing and now mountain biking categories.”

To support Megagrip’s growth in the soling category, Vibram will launch a North American marketing print/digital campaign designed to visually focus on its groundbreaking grip performance. Additionally, Megagrip is now available as a resole option through Vibram’s Sole Factor program and is currently the compound featured in the Vibram Blue Sole for Big City Mountaineers initiative.

Also from its soling category, and because every gram counts, Vibram will formally debut a new high performance rubber technology, Litebase Tech. Litebase Tech drastically reduces the thickness and the weight of the rubber sole while maintaining all performance attributes. The technology consists of a unique vulcanization process that incorporates a tin layer of rubber-coated fabric into the rubber tread pattern.

New for spring ‘18 from Vibram’s finished goods collection, FiveFingers® will introduce three new styles including the V-Alpha, V-Aqua and V-Soul. The V-Alpha will feature Vibram’s thinnest FiveFingers’ sole, a 3mm thick sole incorporating Megagrip, and a wool upper. Its design is specific for the end user who demands maximum feel and sensitivity related to the body’s natural movement. The V-Aqua, also incorporating Megagrip, is specifically designed to provide grip and protection both in and out of the water on wet rocks, riverbeds, canoes, kayaks and SUPs. Lastly, the V-Soul is a women’s specific model featuring an open style upper with Velcro closure, which is extremely lightweight and flexible. The V-Soul ensures maximum mobility and sensitivity making it ideal for fitness activities like cross fit or yoga. Lastly, Furoshiki, Vibram’s wrapping sole for everywhere you go, gets a line update to include gender specific lasts and new rubber toe cups for added protection and improved fit.

Vibram’s spring ‘18 collection will be on display this week, July 26-29, 2017, at booth #34170 at Outdoor Retailer Summer Market in Salt Lake City.
