If there was one word to describe our recent trip to Japan, it would be: Kazu. Why? Kazu truly embodies the Airblaster ideals. He is wild, unpredictable– loves snowboarding, powder, laughing, hanging out with awesome people, eating, creating cool photos etc. Anytime you hang out with Kazu, you’re guaranteed to laugh until it hurts. Add Nick Dirks, Jonas Michilot, Brandon Cocard, Taylor Carlton, Yusaku Horri, Connor Brown (videographer), Cale Meyer (team manager), Japan and Yo Amamgi– it equates to the trip of a lifetime. After a warm welcome from Kazu, Yusaku and Yo-son in Sapporro, the crew headed North to begin their Japan boardin’ adventure!
Horotachi was the first stop after recovering from jet lag. Late start but epic times.
Nick and Brandon warm up with a couple Kungfu moves. Taylor Carlton is always ready.
The hill was equipped with one chairlift, we saw two employees working and about three other riders that day. The abundance of lightest, fluffiest, best snow of the world and lack of crowds, had everyone psyched.
Yusaku Horri is the newest addition to the Japanese Airblaster team. He’s an awesome dude that can really kick out a nice method.
There were plenty of backflips. Brandon givin’ ‘er one.
Taylor threading the needle.
Last run of the day. Be sure to check back for part two from Japanuary Adventure.
