Igloo Products Corp. (“Igloo”) today announced its sponsorship of the REI Outessa Summit (“the Summit”) — a series of outdoor weekend getaways for women which offer authentic outdoor adventures led by professional athletes and guides. Two weekend-long events will take place in the Summit’s inaugural year. The two events will be held at Kirkwood Resort near Lake Tahoe, Calif. from Aug. 19 to 21 and Powder Mountain near Salt Lake City, Utah from Sept. 9 to 11. Registration opens to the public today.
Igloo will keep participants hydrated with water bottles and stocked with Igloo coolers at various locations during the event. The centerpiece of the activation will be the Trailmate, the ultimate all-terrain wheeled cooler and the brand’s latest product introduction. In addition to the hydration stations, a fleet of Igloo’s festive Party Bars and Party Buckets will take center stage at the firepit socials and dinners.
“We are thrilled to participate in the inaugural REI Outessa Summit series,” said Candi Whitsel, Igloo senior vice president, marketing and product management. “At Igloo, we believe that amazing things happen when people come together, and we make products for life’s celebrations—both large and small. What better way to celebrate women, friendship and connecting with the great outdoors than by partnering with the REI Outessa Summit?”
“Through the REI Outessa Summit, we are offering women the opportunity to try something new and experience some unforgettable outdoor adventures,” said Julia Stamps Mallon, co-founder and vice president business development of the REI Outessa Summit. “We are excited that Igloo has signed on to keep our participants fueled and hydrated throughout their entire adventure.”
These weekends boast flexibility and variety. With more than 200 options available, each attendee can customize her schedule and tailor her activities to match her individual interests and skill level. Camping, backpacking, kayaking, outdoor cooking, mountain biking, paddle boarding, rock climbing, yoga, hiking and trail running are some of the offered activities.
Mallon added, “After three days, Outessa women will find inspiration in their peers as well as in their own new-found abilities. We want them to connect with the outdoors and each other during these unforgettable weekends.”
