Last winter SNOWBOARDER Mag set out to make a movie. I was lucky enough to make it onto the roster even though at the time, I had no film experience. Since it was my first season filming, I had no idea how it was going to turn out. I’d spent little time in the backcountry, never built a jump, and had never ridden a snowmobile. So when it came time to shit-hook, dig, un-dig, tomahawk or land, all I could do was hope for the best and just let it ride.
The rider crew consisted of dudes who I’d know for a while. It was big bro Hans, wild card and red neck in denial. Blake Paul, the pow princess, not prince or whatever he tries to tell you. (I think he has hollow bones.) Our third compadre of the chain gain was Garrett Warnick, who proved himself to maybe be one of the most stoked people I’ve ever met, and one of hell of a rider. The majority of the winter, these dudes and myself sledded around, built some kickers, and gave it the old college try to film a movie.
I’d like to thank Mark Carter and Trent who, willingly or unwillingly, helped guide and mentor me this season. Also thank you Blatt and E-stone for shoot with us.
