Ski-Industry Veteran Tapped to Lead Colorado Ski Resort’s Marketing, Branding, and Sales
Eldora Mountain Resort, a local-favorite ski area serving Colorado’s Front Range, has named Sam Bass its new Director of Marketing. Eldora, part of the POWDR Adventure Lifestyle Co. portfolio, recently unveiled a new branding campaign celebrating its 55-year history as Boulder County’s playground. The resort is also in the midst of installing a new 6-pack chair—its first high-speed detachable lift.
“I’m thrilled to join the Eldora team and help make our local resort a centerpiece for Front Range communities,” says Bass. “Eldora is an incredible resource, and it’s one of the best things about living in Boulder and raising my kids here. With POWDR’s companywide commitment to supporting local communities and its emphasis on sustainability, this a really exciting time for Eldora and local skiers.”
Prior to joining Eldora, Bass was content director and senior account manager at Backbone Media, an active-lifestyle PR and media agency. Before Backbone, Bass was editor-in-chief of Skiing Magazine for five years, and served on Skiing’s editorial staff for more than 11 years.
Bass grew up skiing at Maine’s Sugarloaf Mountain, and his deep experience in skiing includes stints as a shop employee and as a coach of alpine ski/snowboard racing and ski jumping. He has lived in Colorado for 18 years and has been a devoted Eldora skier for more than ten.
“We are excited to have Sam on board,” says Brent Tregaskis, President and General Manager of Eldora. “He’s a Boulder local who loves Eldora and lives the adventure lifestyle that Eldora embodies. His extensive experience in the ski industry, communications, and brand management will be a great asset to Eldora.”
Bass lives in Boulder with his family and will begin his new role in early September.
