On Saturday, December 19, 2015, Burton kicked off their new event series, Burton Qualifiers at Wisconsin rail mecca and park paradise, Trollhaugen. At each location of this seven-stop competition tour, the type of contest will be different, unique to each host resort. At Trollhaugen, a mountain known for its prolific rail lines and lightening-fast rope tow, Burton Qualifiers offered up Whales & Rails, a feast of metal and transition that the humans of Troll, including Ryan Paul, Jesse Paul, Luke Zajac, Benny Milam, and many more, wasted no time in devouring. Sit back and check out the madness at the first Burton Qualifiers of the season and stay tuned to Snowboarder.com and @snowboardermag for more throughout the winter.
Uncommon swells hit Wisconsin, bringing never before seen aquatic wildlife to the hills. Conveniently it came at the same time as the first stop of Burton Qualifiers, which benefitted hugely from the waves and whale tales popping up in the terrain park at Trollhaugen. When the foam settled in the open division, it was Ryan Paul in first, followed by Jesse Paul in second, and Luke Zajac for third.
