Third Tour Stop Of The Quiksilver Wir Schanzen
Last weekend sun screen and sun
glasses have been used intensely: the contest day could not have been better:
In the morning the clouds cleared away and gave the stage to the blue sky and
the sun. 102 snowboarders and freeskiers from five countries came to the
Crystal Ground Snowpark Kleinwalsertal to participate in the third Wir
Schanzen stop.
Quiksilver, K2, Ride Snowboards and Activision Prizes
The
super creative setup that had been shaped in many working hours was ready to be
shred by the riders. All of them did their best as there were not only prizes
of Quiksilver, K2 Skis, Ride Snowboards and Activision to be won, but also the
much sought-after Wir Schanzen points. Many visitors came and discovered highly
motivated snowboarders and freeskiers who got the best from themselves on this
gorgeous day.
The
kids broke the first ground and with their three runs they already set the bar
very high. Snowboarder Tjark Fritsch (GER) and freeskier Tobias Müller (GER)
earned perfect scores on the boxes, rails and other obstacles. Afterwards it
was up to the girls to show their creativity and skills. Nadine Härtinger (GER)
could fully convince the judges with her tricks and so she could rake in Wir
Schanzen points, cool prizes and TTR World Snowboard Tour points. For Sabrina
Cakmakli (GER) it was also worth to come to the Crystal Ground as in the end
she could smile from top of the freeski-podium. In the afternoon the
participants of the Men´s category really stepped on it. Snowboarders and freeskiers
starkly raised the riding level. In the finals Sebastian Geiger (GER) was the
winner of the freeskiers, Marco Rinke (GER) could make it in the snowboard
category. International TTR points and phat prizes waited for him just like a
Wildcard for the AM contest Ride Shakedown in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
In
the following Red Bull Best Trick Session the participants showed the judges
what they are made of. After some laps the win of Alex Beer (GER) with his fs
tailbluntslide bs 270 out was a done deal. On the special obstacle Johannes
Rief (AUT) and Vincent Frey (GER) could also impress the judges. They shared
the first rank in the skiing category as they showed a nearly identical 270 on
to slide to 630 off. The award ceremony completed a perfect day in the Crystal
Ground.
At
the afterparty the winners were celebrated till the morning hours and one or
another cool drink was enjoyed to the beats of DJ Wai-Kiki and DJ Albert Royal.
Watch out! You can find the ranking, the pics as well as the video on www.quiksilver-wirschanzen.de.
In
two weeks, on March 05th 2011, the Wir Schanzen will move to the beautiful
â??Ländleâ?? Vorarlberg to shred the NovaPark at the Sajas Park Games. The XL-Park
at the Silvretta Montafon will be the stage for the fourth tour stop of the
Quiksilver Wir Schanzen. As there are many diverse obstacles it will be fun for
everybody to ride them. No time to breath as the afterparty will start right
away in the Rush Club in Bürs to look back on a great contest day. MC Lix and
DJ Masstricks will care for a full dancefloor.
