Mammoth Mountain 2010/’11 Season Update

Mammoth Moutain Highlights

  • 3,500 skiable acres; average of 400" (493" during '09/'10 season, which ran through July 5) & 300 sunny days a year
  • Unbound Terrain Park
  • Consistently one of the longest
  • seasons in the U.S.
  • Base Village
  • Slopeside lodging, many options to choose from
  • Many dining options to suit any taste mountainwide, including the experiential Snowcat Dining Tours
  • Many off-the-slope activities, such as Snowmobile adventures and ethereal full moon snowshoe/X-country tours
  • High elevation, top of mountain 10,053'
  • Free mountainwide public transportation, no car even needed
  • Pass and lift pricing to be released soon

Mammoth Mountain Air Service

  • Horizon Air is now running direct flights to Mammoth from L.A. year round, with no break in service
  • Also, will begin Northern California air service from San Jose, CA again this winter
  • Working on a new air service announcement (new airline, new city) coming up within the month, will send details once finalized
  • New air service offers a one-stop winter getaway for almost anyone in the U.S.

Mammoth Village Additions

Well after Mammoth's opening day, several new restaurants and shops opened in The Village, many in 2010. These include:
  • The Smokeyard BBQ & Chop Shop: a "classic American BBQ joint"
  • Gomez's: a delicious Mexican eatery which moved into The Village from town
  • Hyde Lounge Mammoth: following its Sunset Blvd. predecessor's suit, this hip lounge features celebrity DJs, ecclectic furnishings, and serves innovative pub food along with traditional fare
  • Bear Creek Pizza Den: with take-out, delivery and dine-in options and an array of pizzas, meatball sandwiches, soup, salads, beer & wine
  • Starbucks
  • Quiksilver: a shop for men, women and kids, offering snow, surf and skate lines such as Quiksilver, Roxy, GNU, Lib Tech & DC
