The
Billabong Pro Junior Snowboarding Contest 2007

The Billabong Pro Junior snowboarding contest, (February 2-3)-
is back for its third year in Canada. This year's event will be at Canada
Olympic Park, February 2-3, 2007. The event will determine who the best
junior snowboarder is, with this event being a unique opportunity for young
talents to develop their pro career and enter the elite of snowboarding.
The Billabong Junior
Pro this year will be open to both men and women to compete. We will invite
42 of the best pro and amateur male snowboarders to compete with 8 local
qualifiers, as well as 12 women in their own respective category. Riders
will compete with the top finisher from the slope style event going on
to compete in the Billabong World Junior Pro which will take place in
Europe the second week of March, 2007. The top finisher from the Canadian
event will have their flights and accommodation provided by Billabong.
In addition to the Billabong World Junior Pro title, the "Tristan
Picot Memorial" will be a perpetual trophy awarded to the most promising
competitor of the event, in honor of Tristan's memory. The winner will
receive media opportunities such as a photo shoot with a professional
photographer, and a profile in selected press.
The Billabong Junior
Pro will be a slope style event that will be run in two first round heats.
Top 16 riders will make the finals.
The Billabong Junior
Pro will also feature a night time Jib Jam event. This event will be open
to all slope style competitors, which will take place the evening of February
3rd. The event will run in two separate heats, with the top riders from
each heat advancing to compete in a final showdown. The event will have
a winner take all best rail trick format for the finals.

Entry Fee: $100 CDN per event plus CSF registration (if not already a
member)
-Entry fee will be collected once athletes are registered
Selection Process:
A panel will look at all completed registration forms. Competitors will
be chosen on a variety of qualifications including former results, video
parts, and overall skill level.
Selection date:
A list will be posted on the website Jan. 15th with qualified riders and
waiting list
Waiver: All selected
riders will be contacted once selected and be given access to a liability
waiver that MUST be signed by parent/guardian in order to compete
