best board alive
and I meant alive when I said it. I have 3 boards. A 2007 5150 shifter(powder board), a 2008 k2 www(jib board) and my 09 k2 Darkstar. As far as graphics go this board looks great. I like the 09's better but this still looks good. The reason Why I ride this board 95% of the time now if because it is so versatile. My home mountain is Sunday River, Maine, and if anyone s familiar with it, it's 8 interconnected mountains that are all different. Jordan bowl is the farthest north peak with my 2 of my 3 favorite trails. Lolapalooza is a 3.2 mile green trail. Lame right? wrong. My gps clocked me at 58mph at one point and that is me and my friends racing trail and this board is dirty fast not to mention it mellows out bumps to make handling unbelievable. then there's the double black glade, wizards gultch. with a 55 degree pitch and tree's, rocks, 2 feet of pow, and a 10 foot drop off, this board will make sure u come out the other side in one piece. My 3rd favorite trail is on white cap, 8 mountains to the south. This trail is a little over a mile long of a fast paced terrain line. starts with a 15 foot step up jump, then a berm for momentum then a 25 foot table top, then u can either hit a rainbow rail or a cannon box then u go around a small corner and then theres a hip then u hit another berm and step up to the 50 footer. after that the superman box puts the finishing touch on it. this board amazes me on the cruisers, the powder steeps, and the park. Bottom line you will not be disappointed. 5+

This is the first board I've owned. I would have to say I couldn't have picked a better one. I'm not a begginer but still learning. This board stepped my game up to a whole new level. An absolute blast in the powder and exellent for jumps. Handles great, super responsive. A great board for anyone at any level.
No banana
I have to start off saying that I rode a sk8 nanner last season. When switching to the dark star, I was hoping for a little bit more stable board and a little bit more pop due to the fact that it was not a rocker board. That was not the case. The goods: This thing is pretty fast, and is super fun on rails!The bad: not as stable as the the banana or as fun. Just seems to be dead. the banana also has a ton more pop for my style.Overall a good board, the graphics are sick, but if you are stuck between this and a btx board, go lib tech or gnu. it is better on rails, pow, jumps, and just being a playful board.
