ok here is a deal... i am new to snowboarding and i wonna get into it a little more.. but i have few concearnes tho... all these injuries .. ok i understand wrist and head injuries but this knee thing... i dont know what "blown out knee means since i am not a doctor and this is why i wonna ask u guys.. u suld know what is it.. does it heart and how often it hppens and why!!! thx

well..... is sounds very painfull but ive never had it happan to me. in fact the thing i hurt most is my ass and especially if your learning you ass will get pretty damn tender. your knees will hurt if you fall and land on your knees but thats about all i can think of, nothing major, just a bruise. oh yeah, and in rare instinces, people have been known to fall just the right way and slam their crotchal area on the hard pact which can be very painfull. |

don't worry about blowing out your knees unless you've got knee problems and are over 20. If you're just starting you won't be doing anything other than regular falling and this shouldn't affect your knees other than the ocasional bruise. Your wrists and ass will go before your knees do. Also, if its really getting to you, get some rollerblading knee pads and wear em under your pants for icy days and stuff, that can make a world of difference for beginners. |
