TIERNEY RIDES T-BOARD REVIEW The T-board is great. I have been riding
it all summer. It is the best way to stay in shape and train for the snowboarding
season! Tierney Rides developed and manufactures the new T-Board, a two-wheeled street board that delivers the true carve and ride dynamics of snowboarding on paved surfaces. "We've worked very hard to develop a board that allows you to 'carve' in and out of turns using the same techniques used in snowboarding," said Kurt Tierney, CEO Tierney Rides.
The T-Board is the brainchild of Kurt Tierney and his brother Tyler. The first prototype was constructed from pieces of hardware in their mom's garage in the spring of 1999. Although generations away from the T-Board of today, the original did prove that the brothers' two-wheeled approach could produce the ride they knew was possible. This board was so fun and impressive we thought we were
snowboarding except for the 90 degree air temp and yellow lines whizzing
by. The same muscles burned and the weight shift needed for turning was
just like snowboarding. We were stoked to get out of the office and tear
up the hills. We rode it for five hours and blew the rest of the day off.
We couldn't get Rob off the board "Insane carves and sliding stops
just like on my park board. Many of them plan to use T-board to augment their conditioning programs while away from the snow. The body movements used in T-boarding are very similar to snowboarding. Most importantly T-boarding provides the same carving sensation as snowboarding. Sincerely, Peter Foley / Head Coach US Snowboard Team
