Mammoth Mountain,
CA - Mammoth Mountain is proud to debut the Super-Duper
Pipe, the largest halfpipe of the 2002/03 season. Mammoth's Vans Unbound
Terrain Parks have raised the bar once again, keeping up with their reputation
for exceptional style, grooming and innovation.
"All of our hard
work has really paid off this season," says Terrain Park Manager
Oren Tanzer. "To have a halfpipe, full-size Superpipe, and now the
Super-Duper Pipe all open at this point in the season - we couldn't be
happier."
The
Super-Duper Pipe stormed onto the scene Saturday, staggering eager skiers
and snowboarders with its sheer size. Six hundred feet long with 22-foot
walls, it blows every other Superpipe out of the water. The secret behind
the behemoth is the Zaugg Pipe Monster, the granddaddy of all pipe machines.
This baby can sculpt a perfect pipe without breaking a sweat. The massive
walls allow pros and amateurs alike to build up more speed and get more
air out of the pipe. When Mammoth pros like Tommy Czeschin and Tara Dakides
hit the Super-Duper Pipe, don't be surprised to see them launching as
high as 35 feet off the ground. Mammoth's new Zaugg Pipe Monster is one
of only a few of these deluxe machines in the country - just another sign
of Mammoth's commitment to providing the most innovative new terrain for
its loyal skiers and riders.
Leading the charge
in the dynamic world of freeriding, Mammoth is constantly changing and
improving its parks and pipes to provide the ultimate experience. All
three Unbound Terrain Parks are now open with over 70 features including
3 pipes, an all-rail run called Jibs Galore, and the 56-foot Colossus
S-box. With 60 acres of terrain and features for all
ability levels, Mammoth's Vans Unbound Terrain Parks hold unlimited freeriding
options for the adventurous at heart.
