Adaptive Sports Center Debuts Big Mountain Sessions:
Snowboarding Camp
( Crested Butte, CO)—Seasoned snowboarders won’t want to miss a new, four-day intensive adventure Snowboarding Camp offered by the Adaptive Sports Center March 20 - 23, 2009, which includes two full days exploring intermediate and advanced terrain at Crested Butte Mountain Resort, and an unforgettable journey into pristine backcountry in the nearby Elk Mountains on the snowboarder's backcountry essential, the splitboard.
Participants will walk away from Big Mountain Sessions: Snowboarding camp with a solid introduction to and experience with riding a splitboard, increased on-mountain skills and a broad knowledge of backcountry safety basics, including decision-making skills and an overview of safety equipment essentials (shovels, beacons and probes). Two days of on-mountain riding will culminate in a one-of-a-kind wilderness experience on Snodgrass Mountain, a beautiful backcountry setting with spectacular glades and powder stashes galore. The group will spend two days exploring Snodgrass, a local’s favorite for backcountry winter recreation.
The camp price of $595 includes all instruction, all equipment, lift tickets, a pre-trip conditioning regimen, airport shuttles, four lunches and one group dinner. Backcountry trip is dependent on conditions; intermediate to advance snowboarders only.
